It’s bad.
If you use AI, it’s bad.
But if you don’t use AI, it’s also bad.
So it’s time!
I’m bringing my writing to the next level of bad.
It’s gonna be big time bad!
According to some.
Those, who believe AI is bad. Because it’s churning low-quality content, which is being poured into the internet and now it’s coming back to publishers like a massive tsunami. Readers are rebelling, revenues are down, so let’s just ban AI.
Yeah, why not.
Like Nokia, Xerox, Kodak, and Blackberry banned new tech. Now they‘re wiped from the business landscape. Also bad.
If you use it — it’s bad. If you don’t — also bad.
The problem?
Generalization.
Human bias. It’s when you decide all AI content is bad based on just one use case. Yes, widely used case, but just one: When you don’t know how to use the AI, when you open ChatGPT, ask something vague, then copy and paste it into the internet.
It’s bad.
Oh, wait, now I edit it a bit and paste it to the internet.
Also bad.
Mediocrity bad 😐
But it’s just one single case!
So I can take that kind of bad.
I’ll be bad.
But the kind of bad that’s far from this one single use case. The kind of bad that goes beyond mediocrity.
Badass bad😏
Why?
I have enough data. I’ve built a style of writing with 200+ examples. I have virality. I have enough earnings data.
And I’ve built the prerequisites: I just finished describing all my stories in an Excel sheet. Now I have them all at a glance:
Title and subtitle
Topic and subtopic
Reading time
Medium and Substack links
Earnings, reads, views, read ratio
All kinds of averages (I’m a data freak)
So it’s time to bring my AI friends into the game.
My badass game
I’ll use both: ChatGPT and Gemini.
Why?
Because:
I can build GPTs with ChatGPT. It’s a set-and-forget kind of thing. Or to be precise — a set-and-use kind of thing. I build it once and use it indefinitely. How cool is that?!
Gemini’s the one with access to the whole internet. ChatGPT has a restriction for Medium. Even if I give it my FOM link, it can’t read. It’s forbidden thanks to Coach Tony (it’s bad, remember?). Not the case with Gemini (oh, that’s the different kind of bad, a good one). Plus, it’s connected to all Google apps.
How?
I’m sure the creative part of my mind will come up with all sorts of new ideas, but for now, this is it:
1. I’ll kick start automating my social media game
I no longer have to think of a summary of the article, excerpts, and proper hashtags.
I will train the AI to write in my style, in the language of social media, and create catchy posts for me, hashtags included.
I’ll create a GPT for this, as I need to select the best-performing posts on X as well as my top stories for reference.
Next, I’ll put everything into a Google sheet and schedule my whole 200+ stories (and counting), to be posted across all social media platforms.
I’ll set the automation workflow in Zapier as it works well with Google Sheets and most social media platforms.
Then I only need to update the Google sheet. And I don’t have to do it daily. Weekly is just enough.
Bad, huh!
2. I’ll finally start content repurposing at scale
I’ll ask for suggestions and help create my digital products, books, courses, scripts for videos and so much more!
I’ll use Eleven Labs to digitalize my own voice and Pictory AI to automate article to video process.
Both Gemini and ChatGPT can select the proper stories for repurposing on a specific topic much faster than I can.
And they will actually do the whole thing. I’ll only have to edit after that. And I still own the content as it’s mine!
my ideas
my words
my data proof
How bad is that?!
3. I’ll generate data-driven ideas to write about
No more writer’s block!
But it’s not just any kind of idea generation.
I’ll simply ask for ideas, based on the training data. Gemini can read my Medium articles, analyze their performance, and suggest new ideas to write about.
Likely, these would perform better than average.
Badest bad!
4. No more keywords and backlinks guessing
I’ll feed the whole list into the AI and ask for keywords and backlink suggestions for my new stories.
For this, I’d use Gemini, as it’s also connected to all Google apps, so it can:
access a Google Sheet, which I keep always up to date
generate keywords based on Google trends and YouTube
I no longer have to think of proper links to add and scroll endlessly through the Medium HTML, waiting to load as fast as an injured snail.
Guess if I remember every story I’ve written!
Now I don’t have to!
Wicked bad!
5. Next level of optimized title generation
Based on the story's performance, I’ll train the AI’s to suggest optimized titles for my new stories with the keywords from the above use case.
Titles are still my struggle. And subtitles even more. Not to mention kickers! Right now I use tags as kickers. It is what it is…
I’ll count on my AI friends on that one for the future.
This story is the first example.
I’ll be bad!
6. Badass Storytelling
I’ll train the AI to write in my style with my voice based on my top performers.
I’ll make it follow my exact rules of writing and storytelling as I described here.
Then I’ll feed it with a new story outline to create the whole storyline for me.
I’ll then only have to edit.
It’s still my story.
But a badass story!
7. AI-driven content analysis
Saving the best for the last. I love data and Excel and all kinds of analyses, but this one is freaking badass bad!
I can’t wait to kick this one off.
Gemini will read my stories on Medium and analyze their performance from the data I give in the Google Sheets. It will then provide valuable insights about:
which topics should I write more about and which should I skip
what type of writing style is better accepted and what to avoid
what type of formatting should I use more and what less
In the exact same way, I’m already using Grok — the AI of Elon, incorporated on X. It not only analyzes my tweets, but it also searches through the whole platform for top performers on a specific topic, gives me a list of examples, and even does the writing for me. I’m entirely shifting my X strategy around Grok now.
X is becoming the new Medium! A bad one:
Is X the New Medium?
I compared the monetization options and the features for writers on Medium and X (Twitter). I was shocked!
Bottom Line
Those are the 7 pillars of my badass AI writing game.
And I secretly love it!
Every writer should start doing this.
It’s efficiency at scale.
Data-driven efficiency.
As always, I’ll share everything with you. It’s not as technical as it sounds. I’ll make it simple so that anyone can do it. That’s my superpower 💪
